Benny Gold

Benny Gold is an illustrator from SF. and does a column for HighSnobiety. Anyway his t-shirts are really simple, clean cut. Nothing out of the ordinary but just with a little edge. This guy has been in the news alot lately due to his more frequent collaborations with other clothing outlets such as Nike.

aNYthing

aNYthing established by A-Ron the Downtown Don after he left Supreme to do his own thing. He has since gone on to establish Off Bowery which is a similar sort of thing except they use their shop as an exhibition space rather than just a sale room; similar to the Alife store on Rivington.

Anyway simple colours well printed.

Web Template

I didn't like the black box around the typed navigation. It distracted attention too much

I'll change the colours of the numbers depending on whether they have work or not. I think also the colour of the links and the top will change depending which page you are on aswell.

New Business Card

I've produced a single sided business card. I'm undecided as to whether to have some sort of pattern/graphic on the other side. But blank space would be useful if anyone wanted to make notes about my work/designs.

Michael Steele

Mentioned Steele's work on my other blog recently. His website is so simple and easy to navigate round its unreal especially when you compare it to the intricate clusters of pop icons he uses within his designs. The website doesn't draw any attention away from the work which is what i want from my website.

Alife

Really simple designs but of a really high quality i'd love to produce a very limited amount of tees for the end of year show perhaps as a promo piece so people remember my work.

Shaw Stussy

founded Stussy clothing line but sold it to Frank Sinatra Jr. (his business partner) in 2006 and went on to found s double studio in Santa Barbara

No one can forget Stussy's unique handwriting and typographical styles. They are incredible

not too keen on the new direction. It's a massive departure from the work of the original stussy line

Concepcion Studios

Screen-Printing team based in San Jose, CA have produced a series of prints for Jack's Mannequin's 'An Evening With' tour. Simple colour palette used throughout.

Check out the whole set at www.concepcionstudios.com

They've also produced numerous prints for Alkaline Trio

Strong visual style from these guys and the limited colour use across all their work. I like the subtlety in each design such as the light bulb above with the alkaline trio heart as the filament.

Hot Snot Print Co.

Screen Printers based in Minnesota in the Mid-West

I want to experiment with glow in the dark ink.

Hot Snot Print. Co showcase a wide range of screen prints on their website.
All strong visually with limited type use. Alot of halftone photography used.

Boxhead

based in Leeds. Really interesting bundle of print and interactive work.

Foil blocked onto a CD sleeve and a screen-printed CD. Simple everything. Colour Logo Execution

Collaboration between Studio Project. Letter Press creates a really different aesthetic. They have small imperfections that make the piece feel more human.

I'm getting really into my type and layout as i've said numerous times. This is an interesting piece as it has a different kinda packaging; which is kinda metallic and the inside is natural and paper based. Packaged by progress packaging

Simple layout also.

The ColourHouse

I went to TEAM for the day and need to chase them up but i found the London equivalent apparently. Based way out of Central but looks pretty interesting.

Mesh

in london

Fifth Column

http://www.fifthcolumn.co.uk/

is a website i found near the end of the design practice module. They sell american apparel tees in bulk but they also produce and print their own vintagey t-shirts

I Dress Myself

I Dress Myself are a Nottingham based screen-printing studio working with ethical based inks and a variety of clients including John Burgerman

EDIT: I got an interview/talk with Pete from I Dress Myself on tuesday in Nottingham

Delicious Design League

in Chicago amazing work
Would love to try and get some experience here. Again i need to get more screen prints done for my portfolio. This will come down to all my time planning for the module. This year i want to find my solution quickly and explore different print techniques, stock experimentation.

Anyway i digress,

White Duck Screen Print

Interesting screen printed work from White Duck. I'm going to get a portfolio together of my screen prints; once i have some more done and email them it by February so i can try and get a placement for over easter.
