Portfolio Idea

I purchased a portfolio case ages ago but i came across this and think i am going to produce my own portfolio based upon the images below.

I want to get an all black box made with an embossed logo on the front or a foil. I'm going to phone them and find out. It would be idea to have as i also have screen prints and t-shirts i can take along to interviews and stuff. 

Applying colour changes to a variety of designs for branding and promotional items adds variety to your image. The colours work really well for this design and stand out.

Ibis

I booked my hotel in Nottingham. £190 smackerooons to for 6 days. I hope its a comfy bed.

I'm going to get cracking with my letterheads and stuff over easter and get a colour system running through my work.

New Promo Prints

These are the latest prints i've produced. The top two are what i took down to my interview with I Dress Myself, so they work well i think. I plan on having some promo material to take away from my stand at the end of year show. I want to have my business card, cv, letterhead, envelopes all laid out. I was thinking of bulk buying 100 t-shirts to print a design off and people can take them away.

I'm in the process of producing a series of tongue in cheek stickers to start off some guerilla advertisement for my work and we'll see how much i get from them.

Portfolio

I'm going to be taking product shots for my website and at the same time i want to get started on my portfolio, because after Easter when the majority of the final parts of my FMP are underway i can be searching for work placements, part/full time employment, collaborations. I'm going to throw all my energy into PPD over Easter and the remainder of the course. I realise this should have being an ongoing evaluation but shit happens.

Website

As i posted earlier i got my indexhibit set up and what not. I've put it off for ages but i started to upload work. I'm going to have a few days over Easter getting everything set up beautifully by editing my style.css. I first need to get a hold of dreamweaver. Below is a few screenshots of the simple site i have right now.

I'm going to have a big makeover and make sure i have amazing product shots for the work. My master plan will come together.

Business Cards

Serious lack of updates on my part. I got my business cards printed at overnightprints.co.uk. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome and fast turnaround for such a large scale print service. I'm thinking of screen printing a pattern across the back of all the business cards to reflect the diversity within my design practice. I've discovered though through the course of year three that i know what i like to produce and work with, i'm just not sure where i want to spend the rest of my career. At the moment however, screen printing is a hobby alongside my digital design work (prints, publications) and i think it will continue to be the bit on the side so to speak.

The first design i've come up with is simply a pattern of geometric shapes. I want to keep the designs of my branding/promotion minimal and using a very limited colour palette. As of late i've been trying to keep my work down to two colours or less, more often than not focusing on printing with just black ink + stock.

Anyway i'm going to try and have some of these printed before the easter hols.
