Evaluating

I've spent the whole summer picking out competition briefs and experimenting with brushes/colours/illustration styles to 1) keep busy 2) find where and what i want to do for the rest of this course and potentially my life.

I'm turned on by print and want to experiment this year with more screen printing, letter press. I also enjoy working with image, which is something i feel more confident with compared to the beginning of year two. However, i believe a good typeface is everything. And in order to have a successful, eye catching final product you need solid imagery and solid type, that interact well together yet still work as separate entities.

The idea behind a piece is just as important as the way it looks.

So over the course of this 3rd and final year, i will continue to explore different print methods aswell as continuing to learn software and improving my hand drawing skills.

Animal Alphabet.

I'm going back to the drawing board. I've been jumping straight onto my mac and not analysing my ideas on paper first.

DESIGN SHEETS ARE ESSENTIAL.

I think i'm going to produce this across the first module. If i can hand it in as a piece of work it will be great. If not its something for the portfolio hopefully.

Two Very Different Directions

I want to start screen printing tees again and focusing on screen printing. Its something i enjoy and i find it very therapeutic. I've not done hardly any screen printing over the summer. Instead i took the advice of Lonelypunks in an email they sent me about focusing your imagery down and work everything around been ready for screen print. So instead ive been experimenting with brushes/colours/shapes in illustrator.

I feel this is a style i am comfortable working in and can easily be transcended to screen and print.

I find myself been alot more political since watching alot of conspiracy documentaries and focusing more on the world around me rather than being in my own little bubble.

I DETEST THE LABOUR GOVERNMENT.

looks a weird size there. i'm going to work with it and hopefully screen print it on a tee in a banner style.

I'm creating alot more vector graphics than i was towards the end of the year. :)

I created another dude in same vain as the Blue. This guy is green and smoking. I think it would be cool if i could 3d these up and have the smoke come out of the page

Needs some work. I'm going to do a whole series of characters around colours. I think i told you that already
